Outstanding SAO recognized

Sambaa KSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™eSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s Ruby Jumbo was named 2017SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s Outstanding SAO of the Year by the Local Government Administrators of the NWT (LGANT) at the organizationSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s annual general meeting on Oct. 5 in Yellowknife.

While Jumbo earned this distinction as band manager, she has been working for the Sambaa KSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™e First Nation in a variety of different positions for 23 years. According to LGANT president Grant Hood, sheSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s displayed a commitment to improving her community and supporting its members in advancing themselves through education and employment.

Jumbo has also advocated for incorporating traditional practices into the workplace throughout her career.
