The 2025 Umingmak Frolics, or ALLIAHUGNIKMUN UPLAPQITA in Inuinnaqtun, recently wrapped up another fun year of races, games, dance, good food and good friendships.
Quana to all the hard-working volunteers and staff of the Hamlet of Cambridge Bay. There were so many events held outdoors and indoors at the Kiilinik High School gymnasium and community hall.
This year, it was great to see a lot of youth involved in their community. It made the residents proud, especially the Elders. Quana to our neighbours from Kugluktuk for coming to join the festivities. So many happy children and Elders enjoyed the sunshine and its warmth, even thought at other times the wind and whiteout conditions occurred. But it did not stop residents from enjoying the frolics.
