The Yellowknife Community Foundation has launched what it's calling the Darrel Mack Memorial Fund, created in memory of Darrel Mack, a beloved community member who passed away earlier this year after battling cancer.
The fund will support food security initiatives for young people and single parents in the NWT, according to a news release from the foundation.
Mack, described as charismatic, generous and deeply rooted in community values, was diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer in 2021. He co-wrote the lyrics to his wife Leela GildaySA国际影视传媒檚 song North Star Calling, including the line SA国际影视传媒淪earching for light through darkest days,SA国际影视传媒� which became a guiding message during his illness, the foundation notes.

Donations to the fund will support ongoing community needs and help carry MackSA国际影视传媒檚 legacy forward, the foundation added.
