Daniel Kablutsiak is overseeing the sealift safety project for the Hamlet of Arviat.
He said the main goal is the expansion of the unloading area for the barges in Arviat. They're expanding the land lot up to two times its current size, he said.
SA国际影视传媒淭he way it is now, the unloading area in Arviat's east end, people also use it a lot for boating in and out,SA国际影视传媒 said Kablutsiak. SA国际影视传媒淲ith the current layout right now, we're going to double that in length with gravel and level it out to make more room.
SA国际影视传媒淎nd, eventually, we'll be able to connect the road to the subdivision and to the Sakku factory. It will connect to the dump road and through the subdivision right to the dock.
SA国际影视传媒淲ith the operation, and how I'm scheduling it, we're predicting maybe 450 cubic metres a day. If we go by cubic yards, that's 600, so we're targeting about 75 loads per day, so it will be maybe 19 days in total to do the project.
SA国际影视传媒淭he way we operate now, when there's a big project and we have to get it finished as quickly as possible, we gather all the trucks in town, everything we have, and put it all into action.SA国际影视传媒
Kablutsiak said they will have two crews operating from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. and then see how things are going in two or three weeks.
From there, he said they'll adjust it to either slow things down or speed them up, as needed.
SA国际影视传媒淭his is a big project for the community that we're really excited about. It's going to be interesting to see the progress and the space that's going to come out to double the size.
SA国际影视传媒淭his is going to make things way easier for everyone. When the barge comes in and people are going out for fishing day trips, that area gets really tight and really busy.
SA国际影视传媒淭he whole community stands to benefit from this because now that we're expanding that area, that should make it easier and safer for everyone using it.SA国际影视传媒
