Some may not brie-lieve it's doable, but several grocery stores across the country SA国际影视传媒 including four venues in Surrey SA国际影视传媒 are participating in what can only be described as a cheesy challenge.
Parmigiano Reggiano and Loblaw Companies Ltd. are aiming to break their own Guinness World Record title in the cracking of more than 1,800 wheels of the Italian cheese at more than 450 grocery stores across Canada, a release noted.
Along with the South Surrey Real Canadian Superstore at 2332 160 St., more than 40 stores across B.C. are joining in the Canada-wide attempt, including three other Surrey locations: Real Canadian Superstore at 7550 King George Blvd., the RCSS at 14650 104 Ave., and Nielsen's Your Independent Grocer at 18765 Fraser Highway.
Other locations throughout the Lower Mainland and valley and B.C. include Abbotsford (RCSS at 2855 Gladwin Rd.), Chilliwack (RCSS 45779 Luckakuck Way), Delta (RCSS 8195 - 120 St.), Mission (RCSS 32136 Lougheed Highway), and two in Langley: RCSS 19851 Willowbrook Drive and Hakam's YIG at 20678 Willoughby Centre Dr.
More locations are participating in Vancouver, Coquitlam, Burnaby, Richmond and Pitt Meadows, as well several locations across Vancouver Island and the rest of the province, including Penticton, Kelowna, Kamloops, Vernon, Cranbrook, Prince George, Vanderhoof and Creston, among others.
The attempt happens this Saturday, June 14, at 9 a.m. Pacific Time at multiple venues, to achieve the record for Most Parmigiano Reggiano Wheels Cracked Simultaneously, showcasing the traditional way of cracking a Parmigiano Reggiano wheel and highlight the rich culture behind ItalySA国际影视传媒檚 SA国际影视传媒淜ing of Cheese.SA国际影视传媒
With hundreds of cheese lovers, chefs, and consumers expected to be in attendance, the companies will be attempting to break their own record set in 2014, when more than 1,000 Parmigiano Reggiano wheels were cracked open at once.
Attendees will have the chance to sample freshly cut cheese in-store and learn more about it.
