"A Little Piece of Heaven"

Remember way back in '67,

We had our little piece of Heaven.

So innocent, the tender age of three,

We would be best pals, you and me.

On the back of your little red trike I would stand,

When we crossed the street you would hold my hand.

School would come and hockey and things,

I faithfully watched you on theWardairWings.

Riding our bikes, playing spin the bottle,

You traded all that for a bike with a throttle.

Bikes, boats and cars, your toys so fast,

Remember too often you would end up in a cast.

The ski trips, Banff on New Year's Eve,

I just never imagined you would have to leave.

Thirty five long years since I have seen your smiling face,

So many silent tears, but you are in a better place.

Everyday I think of you, memories filled with fun,

You showed us how to live, a friend to everyone.

The memories we cherish to ourselves can never be erased,

The footprints we tracked in our town may never be retraced,

Your carefree ways, those laughing days, that smile upon your face,

And the best friend that I had in you will never be replaced.

If I had one more chance to sit and talk with you a while,

I'd show you my six small miracles, the reason that I smile.

I always thought we'd be together until the very end,

I miss you, "Horny Lorney" you were the truest, bestest friend...

You remain a big part of who I am..."Cindy Pindy"
