Inuk entertainer Colleen Aasiva Nakashuk, best known by her stage name, Aasiva, both performed and spent time sharing her skills with folks in the community during and following the Festival by the Lake in Baker Lake from Aug. 22-24.
Aasiva held workshops for ukulele and throat singing on Aug. 25 and Aug. 26. The musical artist is known for possessing a unique style of indie folk music featuring the ukulele, lyrics in Inuktitut and Inuit throat-singing.
