A final suspect in a manhunt related to a May 5 Fort Smith home invasion has been arrested, according to police.
The say they were able to locate the suspect on Monday morning at 10:50 a.m. without incident. The accused was tracked down at the Super 8 motel following an investigation by Yellowknife , the Territorial Crime Reduction Unit, the Emergency Response Team, the General Investigation Section and Police Dog Services. He is the last suspect to be apprehended SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½” one suspect was arrested May 8 in Fort Smith and the other turned himself in on May 12.
"On May 5, Fort Smith received a report that three men had broken into a home on St. Ann Street in Fort Smith and threatened to shoot the occupant approximately two hours prior to the call," said NT media relations officer Julie Plourde. "A gun was reported to have been brandished by one of the suspects during the incident. No one was injured during this incident. "
Tristan Mercredi, 25, is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm while knowing possession is unauthorized, possession of a weapon contrary to a weapons prohibition order, breaking and entering with intent, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, intimidation, two counts of uttering threats, mischief under $5,000, failure to comply with an undertaking and three counts of failure to comply with a probation order.
Mercredi remains in custody and is scheduled appear before a justice of the peace.
