The family of Linda McDevitt, (nee Daniels) is saddened to announceherpassingonMarch29, 2025 in Yellowknife, NT.

Linda was born in Fort Smith September15,1951,and grew up there. She attended senior high school at Sir John Franklin in Yellowknife and resided at Akaitcho Hall where she met many people from across the north. Linda lived in Yellowknife, Edmonton, Fort McMurray and back in Fort Smith since 2005. She started working while still attending school including at St Ann's Hospital as a teenager. Linda worked in the public service for both the federal and territorial governments in Human Resources. She worked for the Yellowknives Dene First Nation in Human Resources as well as a Committee Member for the Participation Agreement between the Yellowknives Dene First Nation and Diavik Diamond Mines. Linda returned to school as an adult and obtained a certificate in Human Resources from Winnipeg University in 1993 and completed her Bachelor of Administration at Athabasca University in 1996. She loved sports including basketball which she played in high school, fastball, bowling and curling. She attended the Brier as a keen spectator. She loved camping and hosting family get togethers including special holidays. Linda was a humble person who did not like to draw attention to herself, but she was a shining light to her family, friends and work colleagues. She was most proud of her daughter Kim and her four grandsons. Linda is survived by her husband Jim, who was by her side when she passed, her daughter Kim, step-daughter Jocelyn, step-son Chris, her grandsons Dougie, Randall, Tristan and Triton, step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, her brothers Dan, Wayne and Shane, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda was predeceased by her father Wilfred, mother Alice, brother Randy and sister Dorothy. According to her wishes Linda was cremated.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Linda on July 26, 2025 at the Salt River First Nation Conference Hall beginning at 2:00 pm
