It was several years ago when I first heard the 'Wolf that walks like a man story' from my uncle. My uncle and his friend witnessed this shocking creature outside of Yellowknife.
They were moose hunting near the Yellowknife River, near one of the many bays on the lake. On this beautiful summer's day, a moose was in the water eating plants, oblivious that he was being hunted. My uncle and his friend realized the moose was going nowhere so they decided to continue watching him. It was then they saw something to their left. It was a wolf, walking on two legs, moving from left to right on the beach. What they saw was not believable and they could not trust their eyes.
My uncle raised his rifle to get a look with the scope. Sure enough, it was a wolf head. It was then the wolf looked back! They stared at each other through the scope!
It was then the creature started running up the hill, leaping from one foot to another, in wide, springy steps and then it disappeared. Later that summer, near the same location, this creature was seen by two other witnesses.
The other sighting occurred by three schoolboys as they were out walking on a cut trail near Norman Wells. The creature crossed the trail, not noticing the boys. However, the boys got a great look and one reported that this creature had long pointy ears and a wolf head SA国际影视传媒 the chest area was lean and muscular. This creature had long arms and hands, not paws and strange-looking legs like a dog. The creature fell on all four limbs and ran off over the bank of snow toward the Mackenzie River.
This creature was not seen again. In this flurry of excitement, the colour or shape of the fur coat was not noticed. After these sightings, the good news was that no people or pets were attacked or hurt. But I always felt it has to eat something, rest somewhere and behave like a normal animal. These are questions to be answered, and perhaps the GNWT's Wildlife Management division could provide some direction.
Dogman and skinwalker
The best description of this creature is a "dogman," which has been seen in areas in Michigan and elsewhere in the Midwest U.S. and by the Navajo. A few years ago, I read a book by Wisconsin writer Linda S. Godfrey, who had investigated and wrote about this very strange and aggressive creature SA国际影视传媒 something not to be fooled with. I reached out to several friends asking questions. A Navajo friend from Arizona said it was a "skinwalker," something to be feared. Another friend and a paranormal investigator shed more light on it. A SA国际影视传媒渟kinwalkerSA国际影视传媒 is something that has not been experienced within the NWT. However, this is the time we can find out more about this creature.
Derrel Sims is a paranormal investigator from Texas known as the "Alien Hunter." He is best known for incidents related to alien abductions and having the largest collection of recovered alien implants. He is also part Comanche First Nations. He's been very helpful when we navigate this field. For our readers, he has provided us with this story:
"My friend and ex-sheriff, ex-military man and ex-CIA officer went to find Bigfoot in the mountains. Missing cows and livestock seemed to be missing in this general area. What they found was quite different. The ex-sheriff and his crew had parked in a small valley and were on the way up to the mountain area. They noticed something they can only described as a dogman or a wolfman standing up in front of them in a menacing way.
"Once the ex-sheriff got close enough to realize the dogman was taller than a man standing on two hind legs with a wolf-like face... they realized they were in trouble. It was ready to fight, and they were horrified. His friends who were behind him started running down the hill to the car. This left the brave sheriff up there by himself facing the 7-foot-tall creature. Now you must realize that this retired sheriff, former military and CIA operative is now confronted by a 7-foot dogman, so to speak.
"My friend pulled out his .357 Magnum pistol and shot the dogman-like creature. To his shock and amazement, the dogman jumped up about 20 feet in the air with a blood-curdling scream. The dogman landed looking at him as if he's going to come get him. My friend admitted to me that 'I was running down that hill as fast as I could with that thing behind me. I was putting my pistol over my head behind me shooting wildly as I kept running like a scared little girl.' I was scared so bad that I hate to admit it to my friend, but I was scared to death, running downhill as fast as I could. All the time, thinking I was gonna die.
"Miraculously, I got down to the car unharmed but terrified, and the entity left off chasing me. My friend the sheriff never told anybody about the experience, and now today I tell you. He said, 'Please keep my name and information out of the paranormal community out there.' I fully agreed. My friend the sheriff is a First Nations card-carrying Indian (as he describes himself). At this point, my friend gave me some special ammunition and loaded it for me. He advised that he thought I might bring that dogman down if I ever saw him. He said he knew that 'I know that you want to go see if you could find the dogman. I know you want to find out what it was.' My friend warned me and even begged me not to go hunting for the dogman because if you find it, I think that it will definitely want to kill you."
Many questions remain
There are many questions about this creature's origin and how we deal with it so everyone remains safe. I have to admit that I have no experience in this field and was quite surprised to hear it was in the North. It is good to know that Northerners are knowledgeable about wildlife and guns and how to handle wildlife in the bush. It brings me a level of comfort in regards to safety for all.
I will do my best to research this subject and pass on what learned people are saying. It's the best I can do for now.
I wish to thank Derrel Sims and my Navajo friends for their help as I have no experience in this field and filling the holes in our knowledge. I also look forward to hearing from readers. I wish to remind readers to record with phones and video cameras because it is easier to show than to explain.
Enjoy the summer!
