Extended care residents under the NWT Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) are moving into the 艁谋weg谦虁at矛 building from Stanton Territorial Hospital this week.

"Members of the public visiting to the 艁谋weg谦虁at矛 building for appointments may notice increased traffic in the building as the final pieces of furniture are moved in," reads NTHSSA's press release in reference to the old Stanton Territorial Hospital. "These residents will occupy 10 of the 16 beds, with extra capacity on reserve for NWT residents who need these services in the future."

Friends and family can start visiting extended care residents by the afternoon of Wednesday, July 10, the news release adds. 

"There are no formal visiting hours as this space is considered the residents' home. The exterior doors of the 艁谋weg谦虁at矛 Building open at 7 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. If you are visiting a family member after-hours, you can ring the doorbell and security will provide you with access."

The first floor of the 艁谋weg谦虁at矛 Building will remain a service centre for NWT residents requiring primary care and outpatient rehabilitation services as well.
