Police in Behchoko have arrested three people after intercepting more than 450 grams of suspected crack-cocaine during a traffic stop on Aug. 22.
The vehicle in question was pulled over for speeding along Highway 3. The say "suspicious behaviour" was observed during the traffic stop in addition to some open cannabis and unstamped tobacco.
All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested for offences under the Cannabis and Excise acts.
A further search of the vehicle led to the location and seizure of approximately 462 grams of suspected crack-cocaine, the stated in an Aug. 26 news release.
Facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking are Steven Jean, 29, and Donald Adophe, 25, both of Quebec. Adolphe was further charged with possession of forged documents and possession of unstamped tobacco.
They both appeared before a justice of the peace and were held in custody.
A 21-year-old woman, not publicly identified, was released from custody on conditions to appear in court at a later date. Her charges have not yet been sworn in court.
