Two men are wanted Canada-wide in connection with a drug-trafficking investigation that began in November 2021.
Omid Mashinchi, 43, and Amir Navarchi, 40, are both wanted Canada-wide, according to a news release from Vancouver police Friday (Aug. 22). The B.C. Prosecution Service approved charges against the two in June 2024.
Mashinchi is charged with one count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of firearm. He is described as five-foot-seven, 165 pounds, with a medium build. Police said he is known to have a shaved head and wears eyeglasses.
Navarchi is charged with one count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. He is described as five-foot-seven and 190 pounds. He has a heavy build and short hair, police said.

It was in November 2021 that Project Torque, a large-scale drug trafficking investigation, began. The investigation focused on a kilogram-level drug-trafficking operation allegedly based in Vancouver that was operating both domestically and internationally, police said.
Police seized more than 200 kilograms of hard drugs valued around $16 million, along with seven firearms, $500,000 in cash and jewelry.
Six people, including Mashinchi and Navarchi, were arrested and charged. All six were released pending the ongoing investigation.
