Efforts underway to identify abandoned vehicle on snowmobile trail

City initially unable to locate SUV

There's an abandoned sports utility vehicle parked on a snowmobile trail leading to Great Slave Lake from Kam Lake, but little is currently known about it.

SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½ publisher Mike Bryant first noticed the Toyota 4Runner on Jan. 1. Based on where it's located, the vehicle is resting right on the cusp of city limits.

SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½ reached out to the city for comment on how it's handling the situation. A municipal employee called SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½ on Jan. 6, explaining the municipal government could not find the SUV. Apparently, the city sent someone to search the trail, but it got too dark before they could find the vehicle in question.

This was also the first time the city had been made aware of the situation, according to the employee. SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½ also reached out to the Great Slave Snowmobile Association for comment, but the club's spokesperson did not know about the vehicle either.

After being provided a more exact location of the SUV, the city said it's working on it.

SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½ will update readers as additional details become available.
