Iqaluit searching for wanted man

Police said on Thursday they're looking for a 35-year-old man who was found guilty of eight offences in July and who's now apparently on the run.

Iqaluit say Donald Jackson is unlawfully at large after serving a portion of his sentence at the Aaqqigiarvik Correctional Healing Facility (ACHF) in Iqaluit.

Jackson was found guilty of forcible entry, unlawfully in a dwelling house, theft under $5,000, uttering threats, three counts of breach of recognizance (breach of probation), and a failing to comply with a release order.

After serving part of his sentence at the correctional facility, Jackson was transferred to the Uttaqivik Community Residential Centre (CRC) in Iqaluit.

"Jackson failed to return to the CRC on the evening of August 26th, 2025. have followed many leads but have been unsuccessful in locating him," a press release from Iqaluit said on Thursday. 

Jackson is described as an Indigenous male, 5'4" (162 cm), 130 lbs. (60 kg) with brown hair, brown eyes and a neck tattoo reading 'babe.'
