Yellowknife arrest three after search warrant execution

Two accused remanded in custody; third accused released on conditions

Yellowknife have charged three people following the execution of a search warrant at a home on Bigelow Crescent in Yellowknife.

Police say they got a tip on May 23 that a person had been sexually assaulted at the residence in question and that drugs and weapons were also believed to be present. 

Police executed the search warrant the following day at the residence with support from the G Division Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification Section, Territorial Crime Reduction Unit, and other units. Three people were taken into custody.

"Evidence was seized from the residence, including a shotgun and drug trafficking paraphernalia," stated in a release on Wednesday.

Facing charges are Tevin McNeely, 28, who was already out on bail and under a weapons prohibition order, noted. He's now been charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement, firearm offences, drug trafficking and failing to comply with a release order.

Dean McNeely, 38, was also under bail conditions and a weapons prohibition. Police charged him with firearm offences, drug trafficking, and breaching release conditions.

Maureen McNeely, 61, has been charged with forcible confinement and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

"Tevin and Dean McNeely appeared before a Justice of the Peace and were remanded into custody. Maureen McNeely was released conditionally to appear in court at a later date," according to .
