Aline Mukyunik, of Arviat, is looking forward to entering into her final year of high school in the weeks ahead.
Mukyunik, 16, said it makes her feel really happy to be heading to Grade 12 soon, but she hasn't made any big plans for her future just yet.
She said she's definitely thinking about continuing with post-secondary education, but hasn't decided on exactly what field of study she's going to pursue.
She's currently spending the summer working with children in her community.
"I really like to work with kids," said Mukyunik. "It's a lot of fun. So far this summer we've played sports, did arts and crafts, did some baking, went swimming and held a barbecue.
"Going swimming and having a barbecue are my two favourite things to do with the kids. If I had to pick one as my favourite activity with them, I'd say it's going swimming."
Mukyunik said when it comes to life in her hometown, as with many teenagers, she lists hanging out with her friends as her favourite activity.
"I also really like going out on the land camping. I've been going camping most of my life and I like going camping with my co-workers.
"I'm not sure what I'll be doing in the future. I'm just going to take it as it comes, but I'll always love being from Arviat."
