remind people to obey liquor laws after four busts in Fort Liard

Fort Liard say they've made four recent liquor seizures and charged a person with bootlegging.

Police are reminding residents to obey the alcohol restrictions in their communities or face potential fines and charges.

"As this weekend approaches, Fort Liard Detachment is reminding residents to follow the Liquor Act and restrictions in place within the community," the stated. "Last weekend, officers were kept busy with liquor violations. Four seizures were made in total. One of these seizures resulted in charges for violating the community liquor restrictions. Another resulted in charges for possession of unlawfully obtained (SA国际影视传媒渂ootlegSA国际影视传媒) liquor.

"Two other seizures resulted in warnings being issued. Fort Liard remains committed to reducing the harm substance use causes the community."

In Fort Liard, restrictions state that no one is able to purchase, transport or possess more than either a) 1,140 ml of spirits, b) two dozen 355 ml containers of beer or c) two 750 ml containers of wine.

Currently, Deline, Dettah, Fort Good Hope, Fort Liard, Fort McPherson, Paulatuk, Saamba Ke, Tuktoyaktuk, Tulita and Uluhaktok have restrictions on the amount of liquor that can be legally brought in and/or consumed in the community.
